Decentralised Identity Protocol
2024On-chain identity for privacy-first applications
Rafsal Rahim
I design and build modern web experiences, and engineer the systems that power them—from frontend interfaces to scalable backend and blockchain-integrated applications.

About Me
I'm Rafsal, a systems and infrastructure engineer obsessed with the space where robust backend architecture meets seamless user experience. With over six years in the industry, I've shipped everything from high-throughput APIs to decentralised blockchain protocols.
My philosophy is simple: technology should be invisible. Whether I'm configuring Kubernetes clusters or writing smart contracts, the end goal is to create systems so resilient and elegant that the user never has to think about them.
When I'm not architecting cloud infrastructure, I'm usually contributing to open-source tooling, writing technical deep dives, or exploring the bleeding edge of decentralised web infrastructure.
What I build
I work across the full stack—from smart contracts and APIs to the cloud infrastructure that keeps them running at scale.
From API architecture to full-stack applications—I design systems with the right boundaries, the right abstractions, and a clear path to production. Blockchain, web, or hybrid.
Infrastructure that deploys itself, pipelines that enforce quality, and runbooks that become code. I replace manual steps with repeatable, auditable automation.
Cloud systems engineered with security baked in—not bolted on. Confidential computing, least-privilege IAM, encrypted pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code from day one.
Selected work
On-chain identity for privacy-first applications
Unified control plane across AWS, GCP, and on-prem
Secure enclaves for sensitive workloads in the cloud
Open source
Problems I solved, packaged and shared. Infrastructure and blockchain tooling that others can build on.
Engineering philosophy
Six years of shipping systems—from solo projects to multi-team infrastructure—has shaped a clear point of view on what makes software worth building.
Perfect is the enemy of deployed. I build to production with sensible defaults, then improve with real data.
Not a checklist at the end. The right trust boundaries, least-privilege access, and encrypted paths are designed in from the start.
If it can't be version-controlled and replayed, it's technical debt. Every environment I build is reproducible on day one.
I don't hand off at the API boundary. I understand and am accountable for every layer—from the smart contract to the cloud bill.
